The Conviction to Lead by Albert Mohler – Book Review

5/5 Paper Movement Stars

This is a highly readable, layman-friendly work on leadership that is packed with clearly articulated wisdom on what it takes to be a great leader.

In each of the book’s 25 short chapters Mohler tackles a different leadership principle and unpacks why it matters and things to be intentional about.

This is far from a book of techniques and tricks to manipulate people. Mohler makes no apologies in stressing that great leadership stems from what we’re convicted about, leading with integrity and a passion for our cause. Leaders have a message.

I’d say the book is geared for men leading large organizations/churches/etc, yet there are so many great principles for ordinary guys like myself to learn from. The fact that such an accomplished leader is able to articulate a book on leadership in such an easy to understand way only highlights his brilliance. His passion (or should I say conviction) for leadership is evident, and the book is written to help you, not to leave you impressed with Albert Mohler himself.

So pull out a highlighter, and grab a comfortable chair. Be prepared to stay a while. I found the next chapter’s subject usually getting my attention, and that’s just what a book should do. Great read.

I received a free copy of this book for review purposes from Bethany House.
